My roles involves, Reviewing the project related documentation to better understand the implications of proposed environment and social safeguards and ensure that they have been adequately considered in the documentation, Interface with National Authorities in charge of social & environment and the World Bank safeguards team to ensure implementation of social and environmental safeguards, including preparation of catchment management plans, Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIAs), Grievance Redress Mechanisms (GRMs) and, Environmental Social Management Framework (ESMF) conform with Government and World Bank requirements, Oversee development and monitor implementation of environmental management plans, code of conduct for the workers, Environmental Health and Safety for workers and communities, rehabilitation and management of selected sub project sites in order to enhance restoration of ecological functions of project implementation sites, Monitor the implementation of Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESGs), Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), Environmental Construction Plans (ECPs), and any environmental activity that might be implemented on the ground including the sub-projects under the Project to ensure compliance, Develop the contractors Environmental and Social Management plans, Developing contractor’s guidelines for prevention and control of COVID-19 to mention a few.

My roles involved, Develop, implement and manage the environment, health, social and safety plan for Environmental and Social Research Consultancy along vale logistics railway line, Deliver trainings to over 200 workers on environment, social, health and safety standards, regulations and practices, Conduct safety compliance inspections and audits in accordance with scheduled program utilizing dedicated audit criteria which verifies compliance with employee training, facility regulatory compliance, vehicle fleet / DOT compliance, environmental compliance, participate in and engage with field workers to understand the specific hazards and developed the risk mitigation framework, Document locations and groups which were not adhering to the environmental social, safety and health practices and implemented the corrective measures, develop annual strategic SH&E Plan addressing prior year performance and targets, Develop and reviewed all significant incidents and developing corrective actions based on hierarchy of controls, Participate in national level environment and safety meeting at national and international levels, Lead on community sensitization meetings to ensure that communities are continuously aware of environmental and social safeguards issues including HIV/AlDs, Child labour etc, Oversee development and monitor implementation of environmental and social management plans, code of conduct for the workers, Environmental Health and Safety for workers and communities.
