Position : Quality Assurance and Training OfficerPSI Malawi is affiliated to Population Service International, a Washington DC based non-governmental and nonprofit making organization. PSI Malawi mission is to support low income and at risk Malawians to lead healthier lives through the provision and promotion of quality products and services, in line with the Government of Malawi goals. To accomplish its mission, PSI Malawi is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position;
Title : Quality Assurance and Training Officer
Location : Lilongwe and Blantyre
Reports To : Quality Assurance and Training Coordinator
Reporting to the QA and Training Coordinator, the incumbent will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities;
- Develop QA work plans highlighting how to support specific teams and clinics
- Implement QA activities as outlined in the QA annual or quarterly work plan
- Conducting individual QA assessments using HNQIS and tracking performance of individual performance though action plan development and follow up visits.
- Uploading and commenting providers performance in DHIS2
- Mentoring providers in all health areas and ensuring gaps are resolved.
- Updating providers on service guidelines changes and enforcing adherence to new updates.
- Building capacity of team leader to do regular QA assessment of providers using HNQIS checklist
- Ensuring all QA documents are available at the team and Tunza clinics.
- Ensuring all providers have complied to donor requirements or policies and documentation is available.
- Ensuring providers are trained with PSI or affiliated organizations.
- Facilitating establishment of Continuous Quality Improvement teams in all teams.
- Conduct client exit interviews, to assist in determining the quality of care in RH services delivery points.
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with Government, NGO’s and the local medical community and institutions.
- Have in-depth understanding of the MOH/PSI global standards, Service delivery protocols, SOPs and ensuring they are followed during service delivery.
- Assist with site preparations for visits by external monitors and auditors where necessary.
- Provide regular reports and updates on quality assurance and improvement activities for various teams.
- Orienting provider on Adverse Events and complication reporting policy and ensure Adverse Events and complications are timely reported.
- Facilitating timely completion of Adverse Event reporting form and ensure progress of the complication or adverse event is updated on the forms.
- Updating QA coordinator and manager on progress of clients with adverse events or complications
Required profile for job ad : Quality Assurance and Training Officer - Applicants must have diploma in nursing (RN) or clinical medicine with at least 3 years’ experience in SRH/FP program implementation and continuous quality assurance/improvement approaches
- Must be have a good grasp of the cause and impact of HIV/AIDS, current issues pertaining to reproductive Health and other Social Health issues in Malawi
- Must able to analyze, interpret and assist in solving difficult problems
- Be self-starter, effective team player and demonstrated verifiable result-oriented track record
